Claire is the head of the Doris Day film club, she is a huge fan and
dreamed of luving in Hollywood as a luttle girl. Her grandma loved Doris Day
and now Claire has kind of taken over everything, also her appartment. She is a
travel agent and she us really passionate about rimantic destinations. Ever
since she split up with her ex-husband Philip though, men seem to play
asecondary role in her life. I like how driven, clever and passionate she was.
When she gets annoyed by some things her neughbour does, she writes
him a letter. These letters go back and forth. His name is Dominic Arden, once
in a while we also git to read from his oerspective, which was great. The two
if them meet at a party, but only Dominic figures out who she is and he doesn't
tell her...
The two of the, get to know each other gette and they get along
really well. However, she is confused since he seems to want to book a romantic
getaway for his girlfriend and him....
The truth behind this all is really sweet and adorable.
The situation gets more intense and trickier for him to hid, but he
cannot bring himslef to tell herr the truth. His feelings have progressed...
I loved reading abozt both their feelings and how it all developped.
Claire had her film club girls and there was a lot going on there as
well, especially Abby, who got her own story told through Claire. I really
enjoyed these parts, I was really feeling for Abby. Claire also had this whole
situation wuth her dad, which didn't make it easier to trust men.
Each chapter was dedicated to a Doris Day film title, which was
awesome. Towards the end the drama increased a lot and I was curious of how the
characters wiuld react to all of it. I loved loved loved the ending, it's
perfect for the story.
I really liked the storyline and how it developped. The change of
oerspectives was great, but ut didn't have a real flow, which bothered me a
bit. This is a really entertaining story, with lovely characters and written in
a fresh way. It's a bit predictable, but I still really enjoyed it.
