Romance Festival 2014

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

On the weekend of June 7th and 8th a virtual romance festival was held, check here for more details: http://romancefestival.wordpress.com or https://www.facebook.com/RomanceFestival Some links might not work, cause they had problems with wordpress.

The Saturday was basically a day for authors exchanging tips and talking about their writing and the Sunday was a fan day full of awesome Q&As, cover reveals, giveaways etc.

I post that caught my attention immediately on Saturday was this one: http://romancefestival.wordpress.com/2014/06/07/ten-ways-authors-can-use-pinterest-romance14/
It describes how authors can use pinterest. I especially love them having novel board, like Rebecca Raisin or Aven Ellis do. They post pictures connected to their novel, with places, characters etc. It gives a great insight into the story.

This post was also very interesting, covering the most important things for novels to stand out when sent to the publisher: http://romancefestival.wordpress.com/2014/06/07/getting-an-agent-making-your-cover-letter-stand-out-romance14/

Now here we have Carole Matthews talking about her romance with books: http://romancefestival.wordpress.com/2014/06/07/my-romance-with-books-by-carole-matthews-romance14/
I loved reading this and it’s been great to get a deeper inside into the world of an author.

Now let’s talk a little about Sunday. I have been outside enjoying the sunshine, so I had to catch up on it in the evening. Here is my wonderful friend and author Carmel Harrington talking about love letters: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nCF7b3rgG6I This is so sweet and make sure to check out her books as well, the next one The Life You Left coming out June 19th. My fav letter out oft he ones she read was Ludwig van Beethoven’s, well he was a musician, so I guess... ;)

I love Miranda Dickinson’s vlog, especially done for the Romance Festival: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LiE_0Pv2GDA#t=28

One of my dear blogger friends and certainly one of the few male bloggers I know joined a discussion of Man Of Romance… So the lovely Kev from I Heart ChickLit discussed this along side same male authors. I still think it’s great to have men writing about romance! Here is the link to the Romance Festival Facebook page, just scroll down and you’ll find it: https://www.facebook.com/RomanceFestival or click here: https://www.facebook.com/skysbookscorner/posts/768844179822640

Afternoon Tea with some great authors, I loved listening to them and hearing them talk about their writing: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L6VMwtSjWHY#t=131 The authors: Alexandra Brown, Mhairi McFarlane and Katy Regan. It gives us readers a great insight.

Then just an hour later two of my fave authors authors Sarah Morgan and Miranda Dickinson chatted about books and romance: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zSZRv0r5qoE Awesome chat lady, love you both!!!

Then it was my turn, def. My highlight this weekend!!!

Well on Sunday evening I was part of the Google Hangout with Lindsey Kelk, I couldn’t believe my luck when I got the email of being part of it. On Friday we had to make sure the connection and everything worked and I prepared some questions for Lindsey. Then at 7pm (8pm my time) the live Google Hangout started. I have to confess I was a little nervous, but so excited as well!!

Let me just say this first: IT WAS AWESOME!!!! It was great talking to Lindsey, Lynne and Natalie and I was finally able to ask Lindsey some questions, like a live Q&A. She is hilarious and she’s so passionate about her writing, I love that!!! Such a wonderful and nice author, with so many creative ideas in her head. I could go on and on here…
Thank you so much Lindsey for answering my questions, I really can’t wait for What A Girl Wants now! Oh and thanks for following me :) #bookbloggersdream

As part of the festival Amanda from One More Page wrote about working with book bloggers: http://www.onemorepage.co.uk/?p=13910

So I think I’ve talked enough, this Romance Festival has been great!!! Looking forward to the next one.
